A big thank you to everybody that sold NSA Scotland Raffle Tickets on behalf of the Society. Your efforts have not only helped raise £855.00 for the Society, but we have also won a Honda Generator worth almost £1,250.00 for being the society that sold the most tickets. An exercise well worth undertaking.

A very successful Stockjudging evening was held on the 2nd June at Castle Crawford. Many thanks to John & Jane Paton and James Cochrane for making it a very enjoyable evening. More than 150 members and friends attended with most attempting to agree with the master judge, David Dalgleish, Chanlockfoot. The winner was Lorna McNicol who pipped both the immediate past president, George Irving, Mountbenger and the vice president, Tom Tennant, Gilmanscleuch, by one point. The evening was rounded off by a hog roast which proved very popular.

On the 21st May, the Society had a stand at NSA Welsh Sheep in North Wales near Caernarfon. Unfortunately many stands felt there were not as many people attending the event compared to two years ago when it was held in South Wales. Sheep were provided by Jim Robertson and Billy Common - many thanks to them both.

NSA Scotland are running a raffle for a Honda TRX 420FM1 ATV which will be drawn at the Royal Highland Show 2019. Tickets are £1.00 each and are sold in books of five and for every book the Cheviot Sheep Society sells, £3.00 will be gifted to our Society.
This is a great way to raise funds to improve the finances of the Cheviot Sheep Society which hopefully will allow us to not only do more for the existing membership but also increase membership numbers. For those members who were unable to attend the AGM, please get in touch with the Secretary and ask for some tickets to sell.

The 'Border Breeds' evening sale at Longtown will be held on Tuesday 19th February 2019. As last year, the show will take place at 4pm with the sale beginning at 5pm. The judge will be Lorraine Luescher, Megdale, Langholm.
This is an ideal opportunity for breeders, old and new, to purchase some of the best bloodlines in the breed.

This year the Show & Sale will again be held at Longtown in conjunction with C & D's own Show & Sale on Thursday 14th March 2019. As in previous years, this will undoubtedly be a cracking show of Cheviot Hoggs which highlights the ability
of the breed to produce not only quality breeding females, but tremendous carcases for both the export and home markets.
