The Cheviot Hills, from which this breed of sheep gets its name, form the border line between England and Scotland. The Cheviot Sheep Society was formed in 1890 and is one of the oldest sheep societies in existence.

Annual Prime Show and Sale of Cheviot Hoggs 2015

The Annual Prime Show and Sale was held on Monday 9 March 2015 at St Boswells Market by kind permission of John Swan Ltd.

The judge for the day was Mr James Curle of Norwood, Berwick upon Tweed and the event was kindly sponsored by Macmin, John Swan and The Cheviot Sheep Society.

Congratulations to Andrew Reid of Glendearg who won in all classes and went home with Champion and Reserve Champion trophies and special 125 anniversary rosettes.

Class 1 – up to 38 kilos 

1st  A Reid, Glendearg  36 kilos  £78

Class 2 - 38 – 44 kilos

1st  A Reid, Glendearg  40 kilos  £86.50 (Reserve Champion)

2nd Neil, Thornington  42 kilos  £86.50

3rd  Scott, Kirklands  39 kilos  £81.50

Class 3 - over 45 kilos

1st  A Reid, Glendearg  49 kilos  £93.50 (Champion)

2nd Neil, Thornington  48 kilos  £91
